So Hot it was Cool!

The 2013 Fire & Ice Gala and Opening Night Preview party on August 30th, was another sold-out event with over 1,000 patrons and artists celebrating the 61st Annual Sausalito Art Festival on the festival waterfront grounds. Chaired by Wayne Kalek, the elegant, black tie evening provided an exclusive opportunity for art aficionados to preview the work of all 260 artists exhibiting at the show; it also included a cocktail reception and fabulous four-course dinner catered by Dan McCall & Associates with music and dancing to the Dick Bright Orchestra. As always, Mr. Kalek brought a new level of sophistication and glamour to this wonderful evening of art and community. Proceeds from the gala benefited the festival foundation’s newly launched educational program “Artists Teaching Art” that connects young students in Marin County schools with working artists who teach the children new skills to promote their creative expression. Save the date for next year’s Gala -- “Carnevale: Unmask your Imagination” -- August 29, 2014.
