Sausalito Art Festival Foundation's Educational Program: Artists Teaching Art

Enriching the Lives of Marin County Students Year Round

Artists Teaching Art is a new education program created by the Sausalito Art Festival Foundation. It was launched in Spring of 2013.

In partnership with Marin County schools, the program brings professional working artists directly to the classroom to provide inspirational instruction and insights into the creative process. The program is designed to inspire students to think differently about art, and to use their creativity to express themselves artistically in innovative ways.

The Foundation is currently working with eight artists and partner schools to create curriculums. These curriculums are based on each artist’s medium and personal experiences as a working artist.

Check out this amazing video, created by Artists Teaching Art participants during the program's first season.

I would even give up recess to work on the mural. I really enjoyed the art project and would love to do it again.
